I will be continuing to make anime and manga reviews, as well as anime club updates as usual, but I want to know what you guys would like me to post. I will be continuing the drawing manga series on here because I know you guys like to draw, please tell me what you would like to learn about next. Have a great weekend everyone! Keep on drawing!
My love for art came about at a young age. As I grew up, I refined my abilities and I keep practicing to this day. There is a Youtuber, and author and illustrator of manga, that helped me learn how to draw and write better. His name is Mark Crilley. I suggest looking him up on Youtube because he is a really good teacher of the arts. I know this is kind of a random post but I thought, since in club today we are going to draw and write, that I would share a great source for learning art and writing. Thank you everyone!
Hey, we had an okay turnout at the candy sushi making last Saturday, special thanks to Tyler for coming and participating in the activity. It is nice to know that there are some new members that enjoy club and are willing to participate and help out. Tyler, thus far, you have the top vote for the scholarship student for the club trip.
This week I will be teaching you guys how to draw in the manga style, how to formulate a manga page and script. I hope you all will come to club this week because it will be fun. Bring some blank paper and a pencil and pen. See you all at club!
Have you ever wondered how to draw a manga eye? There are thousands of different ways to draw them, and it varies between each person. I will be showing you a semi-step by step way to draw a simple manga eye. The picture below is a more detailed manga eye than the eye that I will be teaching you to draw, it is for those who like a little bit of a challenge. First: You want to draw a top line that has an angled downward flick on the left side, the top line can be straight or it can be curved slightly like it is in the photo, then you want to draw a slightly curved bottom line that lines up with the end of the little flick on the left and the right end of the eye. you can draw it at any height that you would like it to be. Second: Draw either a circle, like in the photo, or draw one line on the left side in the mid-section between the top and bottom of the eye, and do the same on the right side so then you have the basic structure for the manga eye. Third: Draw a semi circle at the top left section of the iris, the eye part, that is to create a sense of light in the characters eye. Next: You can follow the picture or if you want an even more simple way to make the eye you can just draw a simple slightly curved line in the middle of the iris. Finally: Shade in the top half of the iris lightly and the bottom half of the iris a bit darker. Or you can just follow what the picture is showing you if you want more of a challenge. I know that this guide is not the best, but I hope it helps you get a little bit of a start in drawing manga or just drawing a character in general. There will be more guides coming in the future, and by the end of January hopefully you will be able to draw a manga character both male and female. This week we will be going over the plans for Christmas Anonymous, the day, time, and where club will meet to make the Candy sushi and Cat ears. If there is time left we will have two options: watch an episode of an anime that we will vote on, or we will go over Japanese history.
Hunter X Hunter is an action adventure anime that is set in a fictional land. The story is about a young kid named Gon. His father left him as a child with his aunt and he was raised as a semi-normal boy. He trains to become as good as his father, and to be able to find his father, he must become a part of a famous group of people with special abilities called the Hunters. This anime is a good one to watch with friends because there is some comedy and there is a lot of action. I would not recommend watching this with your family because it does contain blood. I give this anime a 7.5 out of 10. That is because it is a more popular anime, which means it has a lot more episodes that I need to watch in order to understand what is going on, and most of the later episodes are just filler episodes. Other than those problems I honestly think that the anime is good and I suggest watching it if you have a lot of time on your hands and nothing else to do. Anime Club will be participating in Christmas Anonymous this year. As we did in the past we will be selling Cat Ears and Candy Sushi. The Cat Ears will be 15 dollars a pair and the Candy Sushi will be $2 for 1 and $3 for 2 pieces. We will announce where and when we will meet either in club this week or sometime before this weekend I will post the address and time of the meeting on here. I hope to have a lot of good participation in this activity because the club members that participate have a better chance of going along with the club on our trip to Anime Detour. Also you will be able to be in the raffle that happens at the end of the year. |
