There will not be club this week so please do not go to the club room. I say that because last time club was cancelled people showed up to the club room and that should not happen. Good luck on your finals everyone!

Due to next week being finals week there will be no club, also there will be no posts next week due to finals. I will post more the week after. Thank you for your support.
This year anime detour will be held in the Double Tree hotel in Bloomington. It starts on Friday April 22nd and ends on Sunday April 24th. It costs $50 dollars to buy a pass for the weekend and registration right now is at 64% full so register now if you want to go.
The club will be going this year, like in years past, but we will only be bringing 6 people. Thus far there is only 4 spots still open for club members to go, in this system seniority takes priority. For the people who are going we will need you to ask your parent or someone you trust to help with a ride up on that Friday from the school to the hotel and back to the school on Sunday from the hotel. We only need two cars so if your parent will agree to drive up and back please tell me (Austin Guse) or one of the other presidents of the club, it would be highly appreciated if we can secure the rides as soon as we can. We will be staying at the Days Inn that is just across the way from the convention, so it will be a very short walk. We have two rooms, one for the boys to stay in and another for the girls to stay in. If you are planning to come along with us on the trip bring lots of money, minimum amount that I suggest someone brings to the convention is about $100 to $200 dollars. That includes money for food and for souvenirs that you can buy at the conventions big dealers room. So I highly suggest you get your pass now and you save up now as well. If you have any questions please contact me via email or in person. Next week in Club we will be going over and continuing to work on our big manga project. So bring the manga cells you have done and bring some art supplies and we will build on what we have started! I hope everyone is as excited about it as I am. I hope to see you all there next week. Have a good day. The genre focus next week will be Horror and Mystery. So be prepared!
Toradora is a romance comedy anime that will both make you laugh and it will hit you right in the feels. This anime is about a student named Ryuji and how he falls for his tiny neighbor and classmate Tiaga. I do not want to say too much about this anime because a lot happens in the beginning that sets the mood for the rest of the series. I give this anime a 9/10. I say this because it is one of my personal favorites and it has a very well written story line and there is a lot of great character development. So I highly recommend this anime to anyone who likes anime, it is really one that most people will enjoy, even if they do not like romance. This anime is about a guy who, on Christmas eve, was asked to meet a girl at a park but then was stood up. Ever since that day he has never liked Christmas and has ultimately given up on girls. In this anime he falls for several different girls, not all at once of course. This anime focuses on romance and comedy by utilizing the "Several timelines" approach. There are a lot of episodes so if you are in the mood for some cheesy romance with a lot of drama and slapstick comedy then grab your blanket and your snacks because you will be sitting for a while enjoying this anime. I give this anime a 7/10. This is because, yes, it does follow romance rules but it is not all that interesting until the later episodes. It does however have pretty good character development. Next week we will be going over Japanese sentence structure and also we will be introducing a club project (it is not like a school one, it is going to be a fun one). Also next week we will be having the Year Book Photographer come in and take our photo for the Year Book, so if you want to be in it and be mentioned in it you must come to club next week and be there on time. Have a great day!
This week I will be teaching you guys how to read, write and speak Japanese. We will start off with Hiragana(ひらがな), the first character set, then we will move into words and phrases then into sentences. So bring your notebooks and pencils because you are about to learn something fun! I hope to see you all there.
