Later on in the year Anime club will be attending a convention in Bloomington, MN. This convention is called Amine Detour, a place for anime and manga fans to come and enjoy new and exciting panels about their favorite anime and or manga. There is also a big dealers room in which you can buy just about anything anime and manga related. The club will be taking about 6 people on this trip. If you want to go you must get your own pass and have the money to attend, it is very expensive depending on what you buy. We might have one scholarship club member go but they must write an essay in order to convince the other presidents and myself that they really want to go and they have a reason they can not afford to pay for themselves, also seniority takes priority in that scholarship. If you want more information on the trip and when it is, come to club on October 14th, it starts at 3:10 and ends at 4:00 in room 5-212. Have a great day!
I get asked this question a lot, and I also get asked many other similar questions like, " What is so appealing about anime?" or, " Why do people read manga but not normal books?". I will try to answer those questions the best I can. First off I watch anime because it is very entertaining and I love all the different stories and art styles of each. Anime comes in many different genres and styles such as: Romance, Action, Sci-fi, horror, mystery, super power, and many others. There is just so much variety in the shows you can watch, one day you will be watching a sad romance ( Clannad & Clannad After story), the next you can be laughing your butt off at a hilarious episode of comedy ( Space Dandy). I enjoy anime because I can relate to the characters and get into the story more than I can in normal television shows. As for manga, I love to read manga because it takes me to a new world with new people and I never get bored. It is almost like reading a normal book, but you actually get to see what's going on and how the characters faces and emotions are through the well illustrated panels of a manga. Most people are afraid to show that they love anime or manga because they think they will be ridiculed and shunned for it. Do not be afraid to show what you love because the anime and manga community is generally very kind and accepting. So go out there and show your pride for what you like, because hey you are not alone.
Hey everyone I will be posting my first anime review next week. The review will be on an anime called "The Devil is a part timer". Sorry for the lack of posts thus far, expect more through out this month!
